Bea Policarpio

Bea Policarpio is a Filipina artist and writer.

“My purpose is to actualize my full creative powers and teach others how to do the same. I will use the talents given to me to do all things with courage, integrity, and a grateful heart. By doing what I love, loving what I do, and loving others through my life’s work, I am helping birth a world radically transformed by creativity.”

She wears many hats as an exhibiting painter, marketing consultant, freelance model, and content creator. She writes a weekly email publication about creative resilience called #StudioNotes. Occasionally, she dances on Tiktok. She fully plans to keep exploring new expressive mediums until she is grey and old.

About POLIPAINTS

With heavy-handed impasto strokes deftly applied, Policarpio’s art often represents dreamlike mindscapes painted in desire to give shape to the subconscious. To make the intangible, tangible.

In her abstract expressionist style, the emerging artist aspires to create visual objects that draw viewers into an evolving story about human nature and its place in the cosmos. Discovering imagination as a function of empathy, she paints with a delicate balance of buoyancy and depth that has fascinated audiences.

“My artistic ventures serve as my way of keeping hope alive. I believe creativity is a way of life. Whether we consciously claim this power, we are always creating our lives. We color our days with our moods. We heal in layers applied over time. We dance to the rhythm of our routine. Each of us is a walking work in progress and a masterpiece at the same time. We are born in broad strokes and refined in the beauty of minute details. And so our art becomes us. Art is how I pay attention to the seasons which grip us. It is a visual assignment of colors to the energies that envelope us. It is staring into the abyss and choosing to play with light anyway. Because what are we all here for if not to awaken each other? If not to soothe, excite, delight, and inspire the creative spirit that lives in all? Expression is survival.”
