A painting by Bea Policarpio

I painted this as a friendly reminder that every person carries within them a secret world, one that expands every second and grows with them as the move along this ordinarily extraordinary world we all share.
Think about it: every person you meet has some variation of the same human curiosities and anxieties you wrestle with, just configured differently. It’s mind blowing to wonder about the near-infinite number of possible configurations contained in a single person, what more a sea of strangers.

On the human person David Hume once said, “We are all but a bundle of perceptions,” and I suppose if you put it that way, then together we’re all a bundle of curious beings, mashed up together on one messy planet; walking remixes of our own desires and everything else in between, sometimes pretending not to recognize each other when fragments of our secret worlds make their way up to the surface.

this is a really cool way to express / illustrate the complexity of people
